Marengo & Intermed Partners to Set Up Cardiac Sciences CoE in Mongolia

This CoE aims to offer advanced cardiac care for the Mongolian population by harnessing the expertise of Marengo Asia Hospitals’ esteemed cardiac team.

Marengo Asia Hospitals, India, and Intermed Hospital, Mongolia, have joined hands to establish a center of excellence (CoE) for cardiac care sciences in Mongolia through a multi-year agreement.

This CoE for cardiac care aims to offer advanced cardiac care for the Mongolian population by harnessing the expertise of Marengo Asia Hospitals’ esteemed cardiac team.

On the partnership, Dr Raajiv Singhal, MD & Group CEO, Marengo Asia Hospitals said, “Marengo Asia Hospitals is elevating Intermed Hospital into a cardiac sciences center in Mongolia. We aim to provide the Mongolian population access to a wide range of surgeries.”

How the Partnership Benefits the Mongolian Population

Under the agreement, Marengo Asia Hospitals will conduct a comprehensive assessment of Intermed Hospital’s existing cardiac care infrastructure and identify areas for improvement.

This will involve providing training programs, facilitating manpower allocation, and assisting with equipment procurement. Additionally, Marengo Asia Hospitals will share their expertise in developing protocols for various cardiac conditions, including chest pain and ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), ensuring adherence to international quality standards.

As per the MoU, Marengo Asia Hospitals will offer ongoing support, including training for Intermed Hospital’s clinical teams, monitoring adherence to quality protocols, and organizing workshops to foster knowledge sharing.

This collaborative effort aims to elevate Intermed Hospital’s commitment to quality care and position it as a leading center for cardiac services in Mongolia.

Moreover, Marengo Asia Hospitals will play a pivotal role in establishing the center, drawing upon its established concept of “Clinical Corridors” to foster international healthcare partnerships.

Additionally, Intermed Hospital, the only JCI-accredited facility in Mongolia, is undergoing an expansion project to cater to a growing patient demand, making it well-positioned to house this specialized center.

Through this collaboration, they are poised to make a significant contribution to advancing cardiac healthcare in Mongolia and improving the lives of countless patients.

Founded in 2020, Marengo Asia Hospitals is an integrated platform of multi-specialty hospitals with a focus on providing tertiary and quaternary care. A collaboration of prominent entities, including Samara Capital, the Havells Family Investment Office, and the Godrej Family Investment Office established the hospital chain.

Recent Cardiac Initiatives In India

Last month, Medtronic India collaborated with Bengaluru-based Cardiac Design Labs (CDL) to introduce and expand access to CDL's novel diagnostic technology, Padma Rhythms.

The collaboration aims to address heart rhythm disorders, a significant contributor to CVD-related fatalities in the country. This external loop recorder (ELR) patch is designed for comprehensive, long-term heart monitoring and diagnosis.

In August, Apollo Hospitals in Tiruchi introduced an AI-augmented Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging system to enhance cardiac care. Through this technology integration, the hospital has been able to provide more precise and tailored treatment strategies for heart-related issues.

The OCT imaging system gives a comprehensive analysis of intricate details pertaining to coronary blocks. This is achieved through its ability to automatically quantify and analyze data, facilitating a deeper understanding of the patient's condition.
