Haleon India & Sevamob Collaborate to Launch Primary Healthcare on Wheels at Hosekote, Bengaluru

This initiative aligns with the broader trend of leveraging technology in healthcare, as evidenced by the recent installation of a 5G-connected ambulance by Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru. 

Equipped with advanced technology, the ambulance ensures real-time collaboration and remote guidance from specialists, facilitating critical decision-making during medical procedures.

Previously in November 2023, the Odisha government, in November 2023, announced plans to procure 70 ambulances. This fleet comprises 30 advanced life support (ALS) ambulances and 40 basic life support (BLS) ambulances, catering to various medical needs.

The versatile purpose of these newly introduced ambulances includes transporting patients receiving treatment through the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), facilitating transfers to private hospitals, and deployment in correctional facilities, for VIPs, and at special events. This initiative aligns with the broader goal of improving healthcare accessibility and response time in the state.

Similarly, in September 2023, Kauvery Hospital in Bengaluru inaugurated the 'Kauvery Ambulance Responsive and Emergency Service' (KARES), underscoring the hospital's commitment to timely and efficient emergency response.

As part of this initiative, 15 state-of-the-art ambulances were introduced, strategically stationed within a 10 km radius of prime locations in the city. The primary objective is to serve a broader population, emphasising time-saving measures for a rapid response to medical emergencies. Furthermore, the initiative aims to achieve timely transportation to nearby hospital facilities, expediting diagnoses and minimising or preventing disabilities.

Similarly, in August 2023, ZENZO, a healthcare firm, introduced Mumbai's first-ever 5G ambulance service. The ambulance, equipped with life-saving equipment, ensures comprehensive and timely emergency care, showcasing the continued adoption of advanced healthcare solutions across regions.

The 5G ambulance seeks to achieve better treatment outcomes through immediate care and timely interventions. Further, it also supports patients through pre-arrival coordination, enabling hospitals to prepare in advance for necessary procedures and treatment protocols upon the patients' arrival.
