In collaboration with Narayana Health, the Swedish multinational manufacturing corporation Volvo Group has constructed an advanced mobile community clinic called "Wellness on Wheels" to provide free community screenings and medical services in rural areas of Karnataka and other states.

Martin Lundstedt, CEO and President of Volvo AB, and Dr. Devi Shetty, Chairman of Narayana Health, inaugurated "Wellness on Wheels" in Bengaluru in the presence of Kamal Bali, President and MD of Volvo Group India, and a group of doctors from Narayana Health and Volvo Group Officials.

The mobile clinic has been extraordinarily customized and equipped with advanced equipment that will enable screening and detection of cancer, heart disorders, alongside non-invasive diagnostic devices, like ultrasound, ECG, and X-Ray machines.

This vehicle has Wi-Fi connectivity, is equipped with high-tech laptops designed specifically for doctors to ensure telemedicine and teleconsultations with experts at the Narayana Health hospital in Bangalore. The 42-foot-long, airy, specially designed medical container is independently powered by the on-board generator and inverter and features an air-conditioned diagnostic lab and chemical toilet. Chairs and a canopy are included in the vehicle for patients who are waiting. "Wellness on Wheels" initiative will be achieved on the cutting-edge Volvo Prime mover FM 4x2 with sophisticated medical equipment and an automated I-shift transmission. The vehicle has ABS brakes and air suspension for a smooth and vibration-free ride and a variety of active and passive safety features to safeguard the delicate medical equipment on board.
