The 'Rise against Cancer' app aims to combat cancer by providing a user-friendly, informative, and supportive platform for those affected by the disease.

The Indian Cancer Society, partnered with Roche Pharma India, has introduced a mobile application, 'Rise against Cancer.' This multilingual app, available on both Android and iOS platforms, is designed to provide comprehensive support and information to individuals and families grappling with cancer.

The initiative aims to empower patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals by offering curated content on oral, breast, cervical, and lung cancer, delivered in audio-video formats and vetted by leading doctors across India.

V Simpson Emmanuel, CEO & MD of Roche Pharma India, noted the importance of accurate information and support in the fight against cancer. He said, "In a world inundated with misinformation about this disease, our goal is to empower patients with accurate and credible information, arming them for their battle against cancer. Moreover, this platform will serve as an extended support system, fostering connections between patients and caregivers in their collective fight against cancer."

The 'Rise against Cancer' app offers a wide range of features, including access to the latest information about different cancer types, their causes, symptoms, prevention, and treatment options. Users can also engage with a supportive community of cancer survivors, patients, caregivers, and healthcare experts to share experiences and knowledge.

One of the key highlights of the app is its extensive library of articles, videos, and resources that enable users to make informed decisions about their cancer journey.

Additionally, the app facilitates participation in local and virtual events, support groups, and workshops, allowing individuals to connect with others facing similar challenges. Users can also stay updated with the latest news, breakthroughs, and research in the field of oncology.

Initially available in English, Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, and Bengali, the 'Rise against Cancer' app is freely downloadable from app stores, ensuring accessibility to a broad audience.

All the content within the app has been curated and produced by the Indian Cancer Society, with input and support from over 100 leading oncologists. The technical infrastructure of the app has been developed with the support of Roche Pharma India.

The primary objective of 'Rise against Cancer' is to raise awareness about cancer and transform the fight against this pervasive disease into a matter of choice, not chance.

Jyotsna Govil, chairperson of the Indian Cancer Society, Delhi, expressed her optimism about the app's potential impact. She said, "We believe 'Rise against Cancer' will revolutionise how individuals and communities access vital information and support in the fight against cancer. This app represents a significant step forward in our collective battle against this pervasive disease."

India is witnessing technological progress in the realm of cancer care. Recently, Fujifilm India deployed 125 state-of-the-art AMULET Innovality digital mammography machines nationwide. This move aims to promote early breast cancer detection and provide healthcare practitioners with cutting-edge tools to enhance patient care.

Earlier this year, in July, the company also introduced the NURA Health Center in Gurugram, a pioneering AI-powered Cancer Screening Health Centre offering comprehensive screenings for lifestyle-related disorders.
