The Union Health Ministry said in a statement that the National Health Authority (NHA) is rapidly expanding the digital healthcare delivery ecosystem by the successful integration of more than 100 health programs and applications through its flagship program, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).

A-HMIS (Ministry of Ayush), eSushrut, eSanjeevani 2.0, ESIC, Haryana e-Upchaar, ANM, Andhra Pradesh Health EHR, West Bengal Integrated HMIS, and other government-sponsored healthcare solutions were some notable names included among these programs. Additionally, it contained 33 health apps created by private sector innovators.

According to sources from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a driving force in the creation of a digital health ecosystem that will be accessible to all segments of society is the integration of digital health solutions with ABDM. The creation of an ABHA account, digital access to and exchange of health information, quick registration for OPD services, and other benefits of digital health services are made possible by these interfaces for a larger number of people.

The chief executive officer of the NHA stated that the expanding pool of ABDM integrators demonstrates the collaborative efforts of health technology innovators from the public and private sectors to improve the efficiency, accessibility, and affordability of healthcare service delivery for all.

He also said that all health apps that have successfully linked with ABDM (Integration Milestone 1 is complete) offer their customers the creation and verification of ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) services.

He mentioned that 53 of the 100 programs and applications had completed the second milestone in the ABDM integration process, which required them to become Health Information Providers (HIPs). This enables their users to view, download, and manage their health records generated on these platforms with the help of any preferred PHR (Personal Health Records) app in their mobile devices.

Meanwhile, 45 health apps have been designated as Health Information Users (HIU) after completing the final ABDM integration milestone (Milestone 3). According to NHA, these integrated ABDM applications make it possible to exchange health data with the consent and authentication of the patient.
