The app is a component of the Ayushman Aapke Dwar 3.0, one of the three main aspects of the Ayushman Bhav initiative, introduced by President Droupadi Murmu in Gujarat on Wednesday.

In a bid to ensure that all beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat insurance scheme receive their "golden card" for cashless medical treatment, the Indian government has introduced the Ayushman App. The same will allow individuals to get their cards within minutes on their mobile phones. The application is readily available for download from various app stores.

The Ayushman App is an integral part of Ayushman Aapke Dwar 3.0, one of the three key components of the Ayushman Bhav initiative, inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu in Gujarat on Wednesday. The other two elements of this comprehensive initiative include Ayushman Mela and Ayushman Village.

Health Ministry officials have outlined the straightforward process for beneficiaries to secure their digital cards using the Ayushman App.'¯

For the same, they can simply log in with their mobile number, verify eligibility through their Aadhaar number or family ID, and complete their electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) on the platform to receive a digital copy of their Ayushman card.'¯

Moreover, existing cardholders can also use the App to receive a copy of their cards.

Ayushman Bhava Initiative

President Droupadi Murmu, while launching Ayushman Bhav in Gandhinagar, expressed optimism about the initiative's potential impact on healthcare accessibility and affordability in India. She commended the initiative's objectives, including enhanced access to Ayushman cards, the generation of ABHA digital account IDs, and increased awareness about critical healthcare schemes.'¯

President Murmu also praised the upcoming health camps for being organised under Ayushman Mela, which aims to deploy 1.6 Lakh health and wellness centres across the nation for weekly health camps, focusing on screening for non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, and routine immunisations.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, highlighted the government's commitment to improving healthcare services in the country, citing the significant reduction in travel distances for accessing super-speciality services with this initiative. He highlighted Prime Minister Modi's dedication to serving humanity through healthcare improvements.

The Ayushman Village component of the initiative seeks to recognise villages achieving several milestones, including 100% registration of Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries, full registration for Ayushman Bharat digital accounts, comprehensive tuberculosis screening, and the successful treatment of 100% of diagnosed patients.

The initiative, launched on Wednesday, is set to continue throughout the year. Notably, the period between Prime Minister Modi's birthday on September 17 and Gandhi Jayanti will witness various events, including organ donation pledges and blood donations.'¯

Last year, the Health Ministry's nationwide blood donation drive during this period resulted in the collection of over 1 Lakh units of blood.

Furthermore, the efforts of 1 Lakh Ni-kshay Mitras, who provide nutritional support to 12 Lakh tuberculosis patients across the country, will be recognised during this period. These dedicated individuals will be encouraged to renew their commitment for the coming year.'¯

The Ni-kshay Mitra initiative, launched last November, supplements the government's existing INR 500 nutritional benefit, aligning with the goal of eliminating tuberculosis in India by 2025.
