The updated HealthPlix EMR integrates online and offline features, allowing doctors to operate without internet connectivity and sync data with the cloud when online access is restored.

HealthPlix, a healthtech startup, has unveiled an offline version of its Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, designed to streamline doctors' practices. HealthPlix, which currently serves over 12,000 doctors across more than 300 cities, aims to provide healthcare professionals with uninterrupted access to patient data, even in areas with unreliable or absent internet connectivity.

This latest iteration of HealthPlix EMR combines online and offline functionalities, granting doctors the flexibility to utilise the system without internet access and sync data with the cloud when a connection is re-established. The automated synchronisation ensures that no patient data is lost, maintaining the quality of care.

As per the startup, the enhanced HealthPlix EMR can swiftly transition between offline and online modes, and it boasts a 48% improvement in speed compared to previous versions.

Chaitanya Raju, executive director at HealthPlix Technologies, said, "HealthPlix Offline EMR enables doctors to practice even with intermittent internet '“ it is a game changer for doctors. HealthPlix is committed to removing any and all impediments to doctors adopting EMR. In line with this vision, we have doubled our product and engineering team. Over the next 6-12 months, we will continue to release innovative products that assist doctors in enhancing their practice".

One of the early adopters of the offline EMR, Dr Aditya Aggarwal of HCM Healthcare, said that the system provides all the essential capabilities for a comprehensive digitisation of his clinic's practice.

"The offline EMR comes with zero loss of patient health information amid internet fluctuations in the clinic. This uninterrupted flow of patient care from the very moment of prescription helps me consult more patients. Additionally, when internet access is available, the EMR system automatically syncs patient health records, ensuring that all data is up to date and accessible," he added.

The introduction of the HealthPlix offline EMR promises to address the critical need for healthcare professionals working in areas with unreliable internet access. This technology can significantly enhance the efficiency and quality of patient care delivery, supporting the digitisation of medical practices.

Established in 2014 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, HealthPlix is a digital health platform that harnesses the power of AI technologies to assist in clinical decision-making through an EMR platform for creating detailed patient profiles and efficient prescription writing.

In a recent development in June this year, HealthPlix raised $22 million in a Series C funding round led by Avataar Venture Partners and SIG Venture Capital. Using the capital, the startup planned to improve its technology stack and acquire more users for its digital platform. Over 25,000 doctors are expected to be on the platform by next year.
