The newly launched ambulance is equipped with life-saving equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, oxygen support, and various medications to handle emergencies effectively.

In a significant development, the Borderless World Foundation (BWF) NGO has launched an advanced life support ambulance boat, "DALPARI" in Dal Lake, Srinagar to cater to medical emergencies.

This initiative by BWF aims to provide immediate medical assistance to residents and tourists in and around the Dal Lake area.

The newly launched ambulance is equipped with life-saving equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, oxygen support, and various medications to handle emergencies effectively. Further, it is staffed with well-trained paramedics including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other life-saving techniques.

Ambulance boat, Dalpari operates round the clock, ensuring that medical assistance is available at any time of the day or night. Additionally, its presence in Dal Lake helps overcome the challenges posed by congested and narrow roads, enabling faster access to medical services.

This move aligns with the authority’s aim to reduce response time in medical emergencies, especially in remote areas around Dal Lake. Moreover, this initiative will also provide a sense of security to tourists visiting the area.

Founded in 2002, by Adhik Kadam and Bharati Mamani in Pune, India, Borderless World Foundation (BWF) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation. It aims to provide healthcare support and emergency medical services to those in need.

BWF has undertaken several other healthcare initiatives as well. One of them is the “Hospital On Wheels” project which addressed the issue of poor availability of emergency medical services in J&K.

Further, BWF also coordinated with the best ophthalmologists in the country including Padma awardee Dr Natrajan and Dr Shanmugam to perform surgeries on victims suffering from severe eye injuries due to the use of pellet guns in the ongoing unrest in the valley.

In another similar development, nearly six Lakh tokens were generated in J&K hospitals using the Scan and Share queue management facility in August this year. The milestone was achieved within just four months of its launch.

In its first phase, the Scan and Share QR-based OPD registration was made available to government medical colleges and associated hospitals in April. In the 2nd phase, the program was extended to all district hospitals, and later in the 3rd phase, community health centres (CHCs) were included.
