Apollo Hospitals Unveils Latest Generation Ophthalmology Laser Machine to Offer Advanced Eye Procedures

Operational at Apollo Hospitals in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, the company claims that this is the first-ever cutting-edge ophthalmic laser machine in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

In yet another development, the country's renowned Apollo Hospitals has introduced an ophthalmic technology with the unveiling of the FEMTO LDV Z8 from a latest generation ophthalmology laser machine, Zeimer.

The company claimed this is a first-of-its-kind, state-of-the-art ophthalmic machine inaugurated at Apollo hospitals in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad with extensive capabilities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The latest technology offers a wide range of advanced eye procedures, including laser cataract surgery, customised laser refractive surgery (CLEAR lenticule extraction) and various laser-assisted corneal transplantation surgeries, promising remarkable precision, enhanced safety and minimal impact on surrounding tissue.

Zeimer further highlighted that its latest generation laser technology along with the expertise of the renowned team of ophthalmologists at Apollo Hospitals, ensures world-class eye care to the patients.

The FEMTO LDV Z8, uses low-energy femtosecond laser technology to create precise incisions in the eye. This revolutionary approach allows for greater accuracy, reduces trauma and accelerates recovery leading to better outcomes for patients.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajesh Fogla, a senior consultant ophthalmologist at Apollo Hospitals, said, "This machine will allow us to offer our patients the most advanced and innovative eye care procedures available. We are confident that this will help us to improve the quality of life for many people in the region."

Apollo Hospitals has been hitting the headlines with its slew of technology innovations targeted for the Indian and overseas markets lately. One such announcement involves its expanded partnership with Google Cloud to make healthcare accessible to every Indian with Apollo's digital platform, Apollo 24/7.'¯ 

Further, Apollo 24/7 engineering teams successfully deployed 78 microservices and more than 40 databases on Google Cloud with the help of partner Searce.'¯ 

Just days back, Apollo unveiled its Comprehensive Connected Care program, powered by advanced Connected Care technology. This implementation will provide clinical teams and nursing staff with real-time insights into patients' conditions at various stages of care. 

Further in August, Apollo Hospitals in Tiruchi introduced an AI-augmented Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) imaging system to enhance cardiac care. The hospital has provided more precise and tailored treatment strategies for heart-related issues through this technology integration.
