This strategic move aims to leverage digital connectivity and technological innovation to broaden access to healthcare and achieve universal health coverage.

Royal Philips, a global healthtech player and the world's only global non-governmental organisation dedicated to stroke care, inaugurated its latest innovation campus in Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

The expansive 650,000 sq ft facility accommodates more than 5,000 professionals dedicated to developing cutting-edge health technologies. The primary goal is to enhance patient experiences, improve health outcomes, streamline staff experiences, and reduce the overall cost of care.

This strategic move aims to leverage digital connectivity and technological innovation to broaden access to healthcare and achieve universal health coverage.

Philips aims to positively impact the lives of 400 million people annually in underserved communities, aligning with its broader mission to enhance the lives of 2.5 billion people by 2030.

With approximately 9,000 employees contributing to Philips' mission across India, the company has solidified its presence there. Key operational hubs include the Healthcare Innovation Center in Pune, Global Business Services in Chennai, and commercial teams in Gurgaon.

Founded in 1891, Royal Philips, commonly known as Philips, initially gained prominence for its light bulbs. Today, the company is a global leader in health technology, focusing on improving health and well-being through advanced developments.

In recent developments, Philips introduced its Visual Patient Avatar monitoring solution in October.

This innovation simplifies complex patient data into a visual format, enabling healthcare professionals to quickly process vital sign information, enhancing efficiency and reducing the likelihood of human error in care.

Furthermore, a noteworthy collaboration unfolded between Royal Philips and the World Stroke Organisation (WSO). The two-year partnership aims to improve access to high-quality stroke care, focusing on advocacy, education, and raising awareness about stroke as a global health challenge.

This strategic alliance harnesses the strengths of both Philips and WSO to increase public awareness and address stroke as a critical global health issue.

This recent development follows a trend in the industry, with the US-based data and analytics company Merative inaugurating Global Capability and Innovation Centres across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai in August. This move aims to tap into India's talent pool and actively engage with the growing health tech ecosystem in the country.

According to Nasscom, India hosts 1,580 unique Global Capability and Innovation Centres (GCCs), constituting more than 45% of the world's total GCC count and around 70% of all US-based GCCs.
