Panasonic Life Solutions India, a prominent manufacturer of electrical construction materials (ECM), has collaborated with the Gurukrupa Foundation to introduce a mobile medical unit.
This strategic initiative falls under the Arogyadoot Project which aims to extend primary healthcare services to people with low-income groups through a mobile platform.
The mobile medical unit, a central component of this ongoing endeavor, is poised to cater primarily to residents belonging to low-income segments in Thane, including Chirag Nagar, Majiwada, Nalpada, Kokanipada, and Dharmveer Nagar.
The unit will deliver essential outpatient care, including blood and sugar tests.
Moreover, it will offer vital generic drug support for common ailments such as fever, cough, cold, viral infections, and dermatological issues.
Notably, all the services provided by the mobile unit will be offered free of cost, contributing to the accessibility of healthcare services among underserved communities.
The collaborative initiative with the Gurukrupa Foundation underscores a concerted effort to augment the impact of healthcare delivery to individuals within modest income brackets.
The inauguration event was attended by several distinguished figures, including Yoshiyuki Kato, MD, Panasonic Life Solutions India.
Dr. Rajesh Barot, the Dean of Rajiv Gandhi Medical College and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa, and Smitali Umraskar, deputy medical officer of Health at Thane Municipal Corporation, were also present during the inaugural proceedings.
Yoshiyuki Kato said, 'œThrough our Arogyadoot healthcare project, we are introducing our inaugural health mobile van. In collaboration with the Gurukripa Foundation, we aim to fortify these efforts and extend our reach. This mobile unit can accommodate an average of 70 patients daily, contributing significantly to our society.'
Dr. Kiran Pandit from the Gurukrupa Foundation said, "This partnership serves as a conduit to expand our outreach to communities, ensuring that essential primary healthcare services are accessible to those in need."
