NHA Launches Mobile App to Spearhead ABDM Microsite Initiatives

These microsites are ABDM-enabled and offer digital health services to patients. Currently, 29 ABDM Microsites are operational across 10 states and union territories.

The National Health Authority (NHA) has launched a date-entry mobile application designed exclusively for field-level functionaries. This application aims to streamline the implementation and monitoring of ABDM Microsites.

Additionally, a login-based dashboard for effective monitoring at the National, State, and Microsite levels was introduced by Dr Basant Garg, additional CEO, NHA & Mission Director, ABDM.

The event witnessed active participation from NHA leadership, State ABDM teams, representatives of Development Partners, Interface Agencies, and Digital Solutions Companies dedicated to developing ABDM-enabled software.

Addressing the audience, Dr Garg said, "Our learnings from the ABDM Microsites pilots have given us insights into the challenges faced by the smaller health facilities and the apprehensions of the patients in adopting digital health services. Together with our development partners, state teams and other stakeholders, we are focusing on micro-level trainings for capacity building of our field teams and more effective awareness material to communicate about the benefits of digital services enabled by ABDM."

Earlier in July 2023, NHA unveiled the ambitious 100 Microsites Project under ABDM, aiming to foster digital health adoption and enhance healthcare accessibility, particularly in the private sector.

In the context of ABDM, a Microsite represents a cluster of small and medium-scale healthcare facilities, including clinics, nursing homes, hospitals (preferably <10 beds), labs, and pharmacies. These microsites are ABDM-enabled and offer digital health services to patients. Currently, 29 ABDM Microsites are operational across ten states and union territories.

During the event, Ranjan Kumar, secretary (Health) and state mission director of ABDM in Uttar Pradesh, announced the initiation of 35 additional microsites in the state, bringing the nationwide total to 64.

Microsites play a pivotal role in addressing challenges faced in ABDM adoption, particularly for private sector providers. The focused outreach efforts within a Microsite can enhance awareness about ABDM, showcasing its benefits for both patients and providers.

This targeted approach is expected to boost adoption among private-sector healthcare providers and expand ABDM's footprint across the country.

The stakeholder meeting featured experience-sharing sessions and panel discussions involving Development Partners such as PATH Foundation, Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), WISH Foundation, and ACCESS Health International.

State teams, Interface agencies including HLFPPT, Doctors For You, Entero Labs, Bhavya Health, Alert India, Eehul Foundation, and Youth for Action, along with Digital Solutions Companies like IPlit, Bajaj Finserve Health, Caare, ClinAlly mPower Health, Cloud Pathology, Driefcase Connect, EkaCare EMR, HODO Labzapp, MocDoc LMIS, Plus91, and Raxa, actively contributed insights and efforts toward ensuring the success of ABDM Microsites.
