As part of this partnership, the HealthXCapital portfolio will now become an integral component of Jungle Ventures' investment lineup. Presently operating out of its fourth fund, Jungle Ventures boasts an impressive corpus of $600 million.

Jungle Ventures, a Singapore-based investment firm, has recently revealed its strategic decision to merge with the team from HealthXCapital (HXC).

This merger will propel Jungle Ventures' healthcare investments in India and Southeast Asia. Notably, HealthXCapital, with an investment value of $20 million, had previously backed startups such as Red Health (known as StanPlus), Medfin, and THB.

As part of this development, the HealthXCapital portfolio will now become an integral component of Jungle Ventures' investment lineup. Presently operating out of its fourth fund, Jungle Ventures boasts an impressive corpus of $600 million.

The merger will also witness critical professionals from the HealthXCapital team making the transition. Seemant Jauhari, who serves as the managing partner, and Jimit Patel, holding the position of senior associate, will join Jungle Ventures' ranks.

HealthXCapital, established in 2017 by Seemant Jauhari, is a Singapore-based early-stage venture firm exclusively investing in healthcare startups centred around emerging Asia. Focused on capitalising on the burgeoning healthcare prospects in the region, the firm aids innovative startups in accessing the market through partnerships.

With a comprehensive reach, HealthXCapital has actively engaged with over 1,200 founders within the diverse spectrum of healthcare segments. This includes home care, ambulatory care, insurtech, data sciences, and brain health, showcasing its comprehensive involvement in various aspects of the healthcare landscape.

On the other hand, Jungle Ventures has carved a niche by investing in companies at varying stages of growth across Southeast Asia and India. Its portfolio features prominent names like Moglix, Livspace, Builder.ai, and Atomberg.

Notably, Jungle Ventures has already deployed less than half its substantial $600 million fund, underscoring the potential for further impactful investments.

Earlier this year, Arpit Beri (former VP at Shunwei Capital) was promoted to partner at Jungle Ventures. Jungle Ventures plans to expand its senior talent pool in the months with new additions.

This merger between Jungle Ventures and the HealthXCapital team heralds a significant step in advancing healthcare investments in key markets. The collaboration of expertise and resources is poised to create a ripple effect, further shaping the healthcare startup ecosystem in India and Southeast Asia.
