Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) inaugurated the launch of Telemedicine clinics in Humma, Rambha, Pattapur, Raj Ranpur and Godipara villages in the Ganjam and Nayagarh district of Odisha. A total of 5 telemedicine facilities are currently functional in the state. The telemedicine facilities are an augmentation of HMIF's social effort drive 'Sparsh Sanjeevani' that stresses on making quality and reasonable medical services available to the rural parts of India through innovation under CSR in Odisha.

" 'Sparsh Sanjeevani' telemedicine clinics, connect specialists in metro cities to the rural population, making quality consultations accessible right at the doorstep of the rural population. It aims to improve the overall health index of the community over a period of time, while positively impacting the economy through improved attendance and better economic activity.' - Puneet Anand, AVP &Vertical Head '“ Corporate Affairs, Hyundai Motor India Ltd

The 5 new telemedicine centers in Odisha will be an addition to the present network of 20 telemedicine facilities under 'Sparsh Sanjeevani' currently functional in the territories of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana taking the complete number to 25. In the works are clinics in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, which are expected to open soon. Over 2 lakh people will benefit collectively from the clinics in Odisha. With these facilities the all-out number will go up to 30.

The Telemedicine facilities are nurse-assisted centres where the patient is first surveyed by an authorised nurse who comprehends the patient's concern and afterward connects him/her to an empanelled specialist, through a video call. Once the consultation is done, the attendant nurse works out the prescription and provides the medications accordingly. Additionally, the system permits follow-ups. The entire service, including the medications, costs just Rs. 100. The centres are connected with labs where fundamental pathology and blood tests can be directed. However, all serious cases are referred to hospitals in Odisha.

These Telemedicine centres are run in collaboration with Karma Healthcare, a leading social enterprise in this field. The facilities which are currently functional in different states have gotten an astoundingly positive reaction from the overall population, with numerous diseases being treated at their initial stage, in this manner keeping them from aggravating. Routine health camps for cancer screening, eye check-ups, and general screening will likewise be led every once in a while.

With this social outreach initiative, Hyundai Motor India Establishment intends to change the country's health index by covering one district, and one state at a time.
