Bengaluru-based, digital learning platform for healthcare professionals and hospitals, MedLern has secured an undisclosed investment from Healthcare Quality and Research Systems (HQRS), a subsidiary of the American Heart Association, and Laerdal Medical.

This investment aims to bring innovative and evidence-based tools to healthcare training, focusing on providing high-quality training for healthcare professionals in India.

Deepak Sharma, cofounder and CEO of MedLern, talked about the need for innovative tools to enhance training in India's healthcare sector. He said, "HQRS and Laerdal bring the latest innovations and evidence-based tools and content to drive high-quality training in healthcare settings globally."

John Meiners, HQRS and chief of mission-aligned businesses & healthcare solutions at the American Heart Association, highlighted the need for increased medical training in India. He said, "Every year, nearly a hundred thousand Indian doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals are trained on essential programs, but that is still a small fraction of what the country needs."

The collaboration between these organisations aimed to bring a vast portfolio of evidence-based tools, guidelines, and continuing medical education (CME) content to benefit the Indian healthcare ecosystem in the future.

Commenting on the same, Sameer Shariff, founder of Impelsys and chairman and cofounder of MedLern, expressed optimism about the future impact of this collaboration. He said, "I believe India has the potential to improve the quality of healthcare delivery to its citizens and contribute to the global healthcare landscape."

The investment in MedLern was made through the organization’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Healthcare Quality and Research Systems, Inc. (HQRS).

Established in Bengaluru in 2020, MedLern operates within the B2C and B2B sectors of the health tech market. It offers e-learning courses focusing on nursing, learning management, and various medical education modules.

The startup said it has a proven track record of enrolling over one lakh medical professionals nationwide.

The platform offers a comprehensive hospital training solution, including tools and learning content, enabling nursing excellence, service excellence, and patient safety through an efficient digital platform.
