Peping, a digital healthcare clinic based in Bengaluru, India, focusing on Gut health, has successfully closed a funding round of $400K led by Better Capital. The round also saw participation from notable angel investors, including Kunal Shah, Sandeep Kumar Dinodiya, Ganesh Balakrishnan, and Shubham Mishra.

This recent infusion of capital will be channeled into critical areas vital for the startup's growth trajectory. A significant portion will be dedicated to advancing product and technology infrastructure.

Further, Peping plans to expand its team with individuals possessing profound industry knowledge. The funds will also be utilised for creative experiments and broadening acquisition channels.

Sharing on the fund utilisation plan, Chirag Maheshwari, cofounder of Peping, said, 'œAt Peping, we understand the challenges of managing digestive health concerns. Our mission is to simplify this process for you."

Further, the healthtech startup aims to deliver high-quality care for gastrointestinal (GI) issues through a personalised approach and technology-driven platform. India's current relief rate for functional gastric disorders is just 5%. Peping aspires to elevate this rate, aiming to surpass 30% significantly and set a global benchmark.

In India, over 30% of the population grapples with gastrointestinal disorders, with 67% facing conditions such as IBS and GERD. This equates to 140 million individuals living with chronic gut health issues.

These issues are exacerbated by sedentary lifestyles and suboptimal dietary choices, underscoring the urgent need for proactive gut health management. Moreover, today's sedentary lifestyle often leads to more serious health concerns like heart disorders, obesity, and hypertension, highlighting the critical need for addressing gut health as a proactive measure to mitigate potential health risks.

Vaibhav Domkundwar, founder and general partner of Better Capital said, "Gut health is a widespread health issue in India, and it requires a focused team to create a comprehensive solution." He lauded Peping's approach and commitment to building a premier gut care brand in the coming decade.

Established in 2022 by cofounders Chirag Maheshwari and Prateek Maheshwari, Peping aims to simplify the process of dealing with digestive health issues. The company is dedicated to developing a comprehensive solution for managing dietary and lifestyle factors contributing to conditions such as IBS, GERD, and fatty liver.

In recent developments, healthtech startups have witnessed an increasing funding announcements. QubeHealth, for instance, secured an undisclosed funding in a Pre-Series-A round from investors, including Inflection Point Ventures.

Additionally, Bengaluru-based digital healthcare platform MediBuddy, bolstered its financial standing with an additional $18 million funding from existing investors'”Quadria Capital, Lightrock, and TEAMFund.
