The ambulance, equipped with advanced instruments, continuously monitors vital signs in real-time. Instant data transmission to the hospital aids emergency room doctors in making critical decisions before the patient's arrival.

HealthNet Global has unveiled a 5G-connected ambulance at Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals in Kolkata. Promised to enhance emergency medical services, this 5G technology service can offer real-time patient monitoring and seamless communication.

This 5G-connected ambulance claims to be a fully integrated mobile healthcare unit, incorporating the latest medical technologies and connectivity features.

The ambulance serves as a vital link between the emergency site and the hospital. It achieves this with advanced patient monitoring applications and telemetry devices transmitting real-time health data.

Equipped with advanced medical instruments, the ambulance ensures continuous real-time monitoring of the patient's vital signs, with data instantly transmitted to the hospital. This capability helps emergency room doctors to make critical decisions well in advance of the patient's arrival.

The innovation extends to onboard cameras and body cams for paramedic staff, with visual data transmitted over the ultra-fast 5G network. This live feed facilitates collaboration and enables specialists at the hospital to provide virtual guidance for critical procedures.

Taking advantage of the low latency of the 5G network, the hospital's command centre claims to track the ambulance's location precisely in real-time. This feature, as per the hospital, significantly reduces response times, optimising the crucial "golden hour" for emergency care.

Speaking on this development, Vikram Thaploo, CEO of HealthNet Global, said, "As we usher in a new era of healthcare delivery, the 5G-connected Ambulance at Apollo Hospitals, Kolkata, stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions that enhance patient care and improve overall health outcomes. We believe that this technological milestone will set a precedent for the future of emergency medical services, showcasing the transformative power of advanced connectivity in saving lives."

In a similar development, ZENZO, a healthcare firm, introduced Mumbai's first-ever 5G ambulance service. The ambulance is equipped with a range of life-saving equipment, including ventilators, defibrillators, multipara patient monitors, ECG machines, and syringe pumps, ensuring comprehensive and timely emergency care.
