The goal of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) is to develop a machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) tool that will likely assist physicians all over the country in creating digital prescriptions rather than handwritten ones and saving them in digital records. The National Health Authority (NHA) and the Ministry of Health and Welfare are collaborating with private stakeholders to ensure the tool's successful launch.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship program, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), aims to support the nation's integrated digital health infrastructure. Through digital highways, it aims to close the gap that exists between various healthcare ecosystem stakeholders.
The AI-powered Clinical Intelligence Engine (CIE), a clinical decision support tool that will assist healthcare professionals in predicting patients' risk of cardiac disease and assisting in the early stages of treatment, was launched in February by Apollo Hospitals Group. It can be used by doctors on Apollo 24*7 platform. This tool, which was created using the most recent AI and machine learning methods, promises to improve diagnosis accuracy, doctor productivity, and patient satisfaction.
The Centre is likely to begin the initial stage with data from Apollo Hospitals, Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi as part of the plan. 'œWe may use synthetic data at first to train the model. Later, we are also looking at using data from the AIIMS and Tata Memorial Hospital. The data from Apollo's vast experience can also be used by integrating their tool with the government's application considering their (Apollo) tool is available free of cost for healthcare professionals,' as quoted by a government official in the report.
