The introduction of the AI-powered cath lab is expected to significantly reduce procedure times, enhance safety measures, and contribute to improved clinical outcomes.

Fortis Hospital Noida has recently introduced the state's inaugural AI-powered cath lab aimed at enhancing precision in interventional procedures.

According to a press statement from the hospital, the advanced cath lab incorporates the AI version of GE Innova IGS 5, seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technologies to facilitate precision-based interventions for complex cases.

Tailored for cardiac-related ailments, the lab boasts high-resolution, 3D AI-based technology capable of supporting intricate procedures such as angioplasties, structural heart interventions like TAVR and Mitra clip, as well as critical neuro interventions for stroke and emergency vascular procedures.

Mohit Singh, zonal director of Fortis Hospital Noida, highlighted the significance of the AI-powered cath lab in addressing non-communicable diseases (NCDs), saying, "Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) pose a major public health challenge, and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have the potential to be a game-changer in this domain."

During the launch ceremony, Lokesh M, CEO of Noida Authority, congratulated Fortis Noida for leading this pioneering initiative. He underscored the importance of the AI-powered cath lab as a crucial step towards providing accurate detection and swift medical interventions for patients in Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring cities.

Mohit Singh further elaborated on how AI empowers doctors to deliver personalised care and precision-based medicine, anticipating intervention results based on prior patient data.

The introduction of the AI-powered cath lab is expected to significantly reduce procedure times, enhance safety measures, and contribute to improved clinical outcomes.

This development signifies the convergence of technology and healthcare, paving the way for a future where AI plays a pivotal role in delivering superior outcomes for patients in the region.

In another development, in August this year, Fortis Cancer Institute, located within the premises of Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram, introduced an advanced Digital PET CT machine, marking a notable stride in cancer diagnostics and precision oncology in India.

The machine's temporal resolution expedites dynamic PET imaging and empowers multi-parametric imaging. This transformative capability promises to redefine the landscape of PET CT scans from both procedural and interpretive perspectives.

In February 2023, Fortis Healthcare introduced a dedicated helpline to extend psychological assistance to cancer patients and their caregivers. Established by a prominent private hospital, this nationwide helpline underscores a proactive approach to addressing the emotional well-being of individuals grappling with cancer-related challenges and their families.
