The da Vinci Surgical Robot empowers surgeons to perform intricate procedures with heightened precision and adaptability, leading to expedited recovery times compared to traditional surgical methods.

CK Birla Group has partnered with Intuitive India to unveil the fourth-generation da Vinci Surgical Robot.

The collaboration signifies a pivotal step toward realising CK Birla Hospital and Intuitive's shared vision of transforming healthcare by integrating innovative minimally invasive technologies.

The deployment of Intuitive's fourth-generation robotic-assisted technology promises to transform surgical procedures, offering precision that can lead to improved patient outcomes, including decreased postoperative complications.

Notably, the da Vinci system's advanced instrumentation and visionary capabilities empower surgeons with enhanced control and visualisation during surgical interventions.

Talking about the same, Vipul Jain, chief business officer of CK Birla Hospital, said, "Through this memorandum with Intuitive, we are poised to redefine patient care by seamlessly integrating robotic-assisted surgery into our practices. The transformative benefits of Robotic Assisted Surgery encompass minimal blood loss, reduced pain, expedited recovery, and heightened precision.'

Jain emphasised that this advanced technology will be harnessed across diverse medical disciplines such as oncology, urology, minimal access, bariatric and robotic surgery, gynecology, general surgery, and thoracic surgery.

Surgeons can use this advanced platform to manipulate instruments guided by a console, facilitating robot-assisted minimally invasive procedures. The technology offers substantial patient benefits, including shorter hospital stays and speedier recovery, while preserving function and aesthetics.

Henry Charlton from Intuitive India said, 'œOver the past decade, there has been a global surge in the adoption of minimally invasive technology. Our memorandum with CK Birla Hospital underscores our dedication to collaboratively enabling access to innovative and outcomes-focused minimally invasive surgical technology. This collaboration is poised to contribute significantly to India's surgical healthcare ecosystem."

Established in 1857 and based in Delhi, the CK Birla Group is helmed by Chairman CK Birla. The conglomerate has a diversified presence encompassing home and building products, automotive and technology, as well as healthcare and education sectors. Among its key partnerships are collaborations with renowned global enterprises such as Caterpillar, Ford, and Daimler.

Last week, Intuitive Surgical and Max Healthcare had partnered to establish an Observation Centre for Robotic-Assisted Surgery. This initiative, the Total Program Observation (TPO) Centre, is designed to provide healthcare professionals with an unparalleled platform for immersive learning in multi-disciplinary robotic-assisted surgery programs.

This collaboration follows Yashoda Super Specialty Hospital's recent introduction of the fourth-generation da Vinci robotic surgery program in April 2023, showcasing the growing integration of cutting-edge technology in the healthcare landscape.
