In addition to accurate diagnosis and real-time insights, AI-POC offers cancer risk assessment and treatment protocols.

In a recent move, Apollo Cancer Centre has unveiled the AI-Precision Oncology Centre (POC) in Bengaluru, setting a new standard in cancer care. This innovative centre aims to provide swift and accurate treatment options for oncologists, patients, and caregivers, harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI).

The AI-POC offers specialised medical services ensuring accurate diagnosis, real-time insights, cancer risk assessment, treatment protocols, and a seamless continuum of care.

Designed to be patient-centric, it identifies eligible patients for targeted therapy and immunotherapy during diagnosis and treatment planning. Utilising conversational AI, the centre educates patients and their families on diagnosis and treatment FAQs and connects them with support groups.

Commenting on the same, Suneeta Reddy, managing director of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, said, "This initiative reflects our dedication to providing patients with the most advanced, tailored treatments, underscoring Apollo Hospitals' relentless pursuit of excellence in healthcare delivery."

Apollo’s Healthtech Innovations

As one of the leading hospitals in India, Apollo remains in news for its latest technology innovation, adoption and business expansion initiatives. For example, in a recent collaboration, Gurugram-based startup ClaimBuddy partnered with Apollo Hospitals to streamline insurance claims processing, aiming to enhance insurance desk management. This collaboration aims to expedite claim approvals, reduce administrative overheads, and provide a hassle-free experience for patients.

Moreover, Apollo Hospital at Bannerghatta Road in Bengaluru has introduced a 5G-connected ambulance from HealthNet Global. Equipped with onboard cameras and body cams for paramedics, the ambulance leverages 5G technology for real-time collaboration and remote guidance, bridging the gap between traditional ambulances and telemedicine.

In October 2023, Apollo Adlux Hospital in Kerala launched its advanced and comprehensive stroke clinic at Angamaly, aligning with its commitment to offering advanced medical care. The clinic provides rapid access to a high-specialty hospital with a dedicated team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, and emergency medicine specialists.

AI in Cancer Research

In the realm of AI-based cancer research, Qure.ai & Project Data Sphere® have collaborated to integrate AI solutions into tumour assessments for clinical trials and cancer care. The partnership aims to improve the efficiency and consistency of evaluating cancer treatment effectiveness, ultimately enhancing patient care quality.

The collaboration focuses on autoRECIST, a product designed to automate and standardise tumour response assessments in medical imaging.

Also, Switzerland-based SOPHiA GENETICS, a cloud-based software firm in data-driven medicine, has joined forces with Karkinos Healthcare, a cancer care technology network in India to advance cancer research in India.

As per the partnership deal, Karkinos Healthcare will utilise SOPHiA GENETICS's SOPHiA DDM Platform to advance cancer testing and research for blood cancers and solid tumours, with a particular focus on underserved areas in low and middle-income countries.

Utilising patented algorithms, the platform performs tasks such as calling, annotating, and pre-classifying variants from raw NGS data, streamlining prioritisation, simplifying interpretation, and expediting the reporting process.
