AIIMS, GGSIP Partner to Launch 'Patient Grievance Redressal System'

The "Patient Grievance Redressal System" collaboration has been designed to handle patient feedback and concerns in a holistic manner effectively. This initiative holds significant importance as it introduces a novel approach to enhancing patient care.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) have joined hands to introduce a Patient Grievance Redressal System.

The initial phase of the initiative is to be implemented in the Mother and Child Block of AIIMS. As the project unfolds, its coverage will be expanded to encompass various departments, blocks, and centers across the institution.

The formalisation of this collaboration materialised through the signing and exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between AIIMS New Delhi and USAR (University School of Automation and Robotics) & USDI (University School of Design and Innovation) from GGSIPU.

Director of AIIMS, Prof. Dr. M. Srinivas talked about how the partnership will help to augment transparency, accountability, and overall patient satisfaction within the healthcare sphere.

This initiative, conceptualised with the intention of comprehensively attending to patient issues and input, has garnered attention for its unique approach to patient care.

Remarkably, students and faculties from GGSIPU's USAR & USDI have graciously volunteered their expertise to create the program, exemplifying their commitment to advancing healthcare without monetary considerations.

The collaboration anticipates substantial savings for AIIMS, harnessing the dedication and proficiency of GGSIPU's faculty and students to revolutionise patient care practices.

The holistic scope of the "Patient Grievance Redressal System" spans numerous facets of healthcare delivery. It encompasses patient treatment, clinical practices, nursing care, welfare scheme implementation, sanitation, security, infrastructure, and facility management.

The move is going to work as a game-changer benefiting the healthcare industry, as pointed out by several industry experts. They feel that the partnership will further fundamentally reshape the way patient concerns and feedback are addressed.

AIIMS' Director, further noted that the partnership epitomises a collective dedication to patient-centric healthcare, harnessing innovation and expertise to set new benchmarks for care and patient contentment.

Prof. Dr. Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor of GGSIP University, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the influential role of academia in driving societal change. He underscored their pride in contributing to AIIMS' mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.

Previously, AIIMS Delhi and SMSIMSR collaborated to advance teaching methodologies and facilitate significant national healthcare projects. Through this partnership, both institutions planned to promote impactful modules and contribute to vital healthcare initiatives, fostering innovation and excellence in medical education and services.

Dr Rima Dada, Professor in Charge of the Media Cell, AIIMs, revealed that the development of the "Patient Grievance Redressal System" would be undertaken without any financial burden on AIIMS.
