AIIMS Delhi has decided to create a indoor patient navigation app because many visitors find it difficult to navigate the building maze to find the appropriate treatment location.
Patients seeking treatment at the AIIMS in Delhi as well as at the NCI in Jhajjar will both benefit from the application.
The media coordinator, Dr. Rima Dada, stated that the hospital sees more than 25,000 patients and caregivers each day. It is frequently challenging for new patients to locate departments.
The director has established a five-member committee with Dr. Vivek Tandon, a professor in the neurosurgery department, serving as chair. The committee has three months to ensure that the app is ready.
The director has instructed the committee to involve a seasoned government organization, PSU (public sector undertakings), or government autonomous body that has a track record of putting indoor navigation systems into operation within seven days. The app ought to be available in Hindi, particularly, apart from a few other Indian languages. It must be hosted on a cloud-based system. For the app to be accessible, it must be simple to use. It should be able to function indoors as well as outdoors. It should also be able to provide offline directions. The order stated that data must be stored on Indian servers.
